Sheridan “Hackademics” wins 3rd place in TD Elevate Hackathon competition

Congratulations to the Sheridan “Hackademics” on their 3rd place win in the TD Elevate Hackathon competition, the largest hackathon ever held in Toronto.

The “Hackademics” were comprised of members from the Mobile Computing bachelor’s degree program in the Faculty of Applied Science and Technologies and members from the Interaction Design bachelor’s degree program in the Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design. For the competition, the group developed a system that could be installed across the city to create a real-time database of how sound pollution is affecting people who live in Toronto. By connecting that functionality to a mobile app, this can help Torontonians make better decisions about where to live and work.
